Video Mastering refers to the conversion of original video and audio data, with modifications to the output aspect ratio, sizing and slight recut and is done due to:
- When the target platform does not support the format that the original data is in.
- When the target platform has a specific requirements for audio mapping and format.
- In order to convert incompatible file types into a modern format that is supported
The process of video Mastering is normally a two-step process. The first part of the process is Encoding. This is whereby the original data is transferred to a proper format. The second part of the process is the Quality Check whereby the data will now be screened and complied that it matches the desired format.
